6 Hours of Shanghai : Corvette and Porsche, the other duel

When the Corvette Larbre Competition won its class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the third round of the World Championship (also benefiting from a double points) at that point they looked unstoppable, but two subsequent disqualifications for the French team reopened the battle. The main beneficiary of this upheaval was the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR of Christian Ried, Paolo Ruberti and Gianluca Roda (Team Felbermayr-Proton). The two teams are separated by twenty points in the standings, and a victory would score twenty-five.

The fight is even tighter for third place, and between two American teams. Second in class at Fuji, Krohn Racing is only eight points ahead of AF Corse-Waltrip. Both race a Ferrari 458 Italia. At the end of 2012 season, Michael Waltrip and partners AF Corse are racing on two fronts between Asia and America. On track at Shanghai, aiming for the final podium in LM GTE Am in the FIA World Endurance Championship, but also the two drivers, Clint Bowyer and Martin Truex Jr. (Toyota Camry) rank among the twelve contenders in the final phase of the last ten races of the NASCAR Sprint Cup that will decide the title. The two Audi crews, Larbre, Team Felbermayr-Proton, Krohn Racing or AF Corse-Waltrip, the final titles will be hotly contested up to the chequered flag of the 6 Hours of Shanghai .

The final round of the 2012 FIA World Endurance Championship, the 6 Hours of Shanghai will be held on Sunday the 28th of October.
