Free practice began on Friday morning at 08:30 by grid one of 1 the Inter-Ecuries series. All day, have successive grids of Superkart European Championship, the Peugeot RCZ Cup, French Formula 4 Championship, French GT Championship, the ICGP and the Grand Prix 1000 CC Open.
The day went perfectly with only one small incident for the Ferrari 458 Italia No. 27, driven by Jacques Duqueine, entered in the French FFSA GT Championship at the 'virage du raccordement'.
Things get serious on Saturday from 8:00 until 10:00 with the first qualifying sessions to determine the starting grid. The first race is the French F4 Championship, followed by the Peugeot RCZ Cup and French GT Championship that will take place in the late afternoon on Saturday.
On the Circuit 'Karting Alain Prost', competitors entered in the 27th edition of the 24 Hours Karting also have practice sessions. They had the night session from 20:45 to 22:00 on Friday. The qualifying will take place on Saturday from 10:00 to 12:00 prior to 15:00 when by David Halliday will wave the staring flag.
The village opened its doors on Friday and two primary school classes from local schools 'Louis Blériot II' and 'Jean Mermoz' (approximately 100 children aged 8 to 10 years) came to participate in a free workshop practice 'My first license', organized through a partnership between Automobile Club de l'Ouest and the City of Le Mans. These sessions, an hour long, aimed to educate and train future road users to drive responsibly. Jean Claude, Deputy Mayor in charge of schools and Frédéric Lénart, Managing Director of the ACO welcomed the project. Throughout the weekend, all children in attendance will have the opportunity to take part in the Young Driver programme.
The ACO festival continues throughout the weekend inside the circuit of Le Mans 24 Hours. Beyond the many official competitions, come and enjoy off-track parades of old vehicles but also the magnificent exhibition “Treasures of the ACO'' dedicated to the heritage of the club, located in the village, but also the sounds of concerts (Flying Gaskets and Charivari from 19: 30 pm) plus fireworks; ride and drive in Pescarolo driving school or Porsche Sport Driving School, discover the clothing collections and the other shops ... But above all, experience a weekend of celebration!
