After having experienced La Sarthe with Oreca, then continued his career with Pescarolo Sport and Aston Martin Racing, the driver native of Alès was a part of the Peugeot adventure from 2007 to 2011. With the 908 HDi FAP, Stéphane Sarrazin won in 2007, 2008 and 2009 three consecutive pole positions at the 24 Hours of Le Mans (an exploit that only Jacky Ickx had achieved before him in 1981, 82 and 83) and three podiums, with two second place finishes (2007, 2009) and a third place finish (2011).
After quitting the Peugeot program at the beginning of 2012, he brought the American team - Starworks Motorsport - to victory in the LM P2 class for his first international season in the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), before becoming one of the spearheads at Toyota, with a new second place finish at Le Mans in 2013, along with Sébastien Buemi and Anthony Davidson, with whom he won the 6 Hours of Bahreïn, the closing round of the 2013 World Championship. With the two successive victories of the TS040 Hybrid at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps, all hope is allowed Sarrazin for a well-deserved victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, ultimate gem that would reward a superb career.
