As the 24 Hours of Le Mans approaches, MissionH24, the project initiated by the ACO and GreenGT to promote zero-carbon motor racing is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Plastic Omnium. The French company will be supplying the high-pressure fuel tanks for the Hydrogen prototype class.
The goal is to use hydrogen-electric power, and enjoy zero-carbon emissions
Automotive supplier Plastic Omnium specialises in high-pressure hydrogen storage systems and seized the tremendous testing opportunities offered by motor racing to demonstrate its expertise.
Plastic Omnium joins Total, Michelin and Symbio as a partner of the MissionH24 project initiated by 24 Hours of Le Mans organiser the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and GreenGT, a pioneering company in the development of high-performance hydrogen-electric propulsion systems.
MissionH24 was launched in September 2018 when GreenGT’s hydrogen-electric prototype, LMPH2G, was unveiled. The machine is blazing a trail for hydrogen-electric cars to compete at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans. By introducing a zero-carbon class, MissionH24 is helping to pave the way to cleaner motoring.
Plastic Omnium, like Total, Michelin and Symbio, is both a technical and financial partner in the project. Having won the call for tenders, Plastic Omnium will be the exclusive supplier of fuel tanks for the hydrogen class to be introduced in 2024. Research and development will be conducted hand-in-hand with MissionH24.
