24 Hours of Le Mans – Reactions from the LMP2 class winners

Nicolas Lapierre, André Negrão and Pierre Thiriet tell us about their race and LMP2 win at the wheel of Signatech Alpine Matmut's #36 Alpine A470.

Nicolas Lapierre
"At the beginning of the race, the decision was difficult: do battle with G-Drive Racing or fight for the championship with Jackie Chan DC Racing? But, you have to respect this race, so we went after the win. There is no room for error in the LMP2 class because there are so many cars. You have to have a bit of luck as well, and this is a great day for Alpine."

André Negrão
"It was a very challenging race. The gaps are so close in LMP2 that you have to be on the offensive for 24 hours and make zero mistakes. During the night, the safety car took the track between us and G-Drive Racing. At the time, we thought it might have cost us the race, but they had a starter problem, and that allowed us to take the lead."

Pierre Thiriet
"We need to congratulate Jackie Chan DC Racing as well. They pushed us to prepare every detail of the race and every part for the car. There is an extraordinary spirit in the Signatech Alpine team. My teammates did exceptional work during the night."
