Asian LMS - A Ligier JS P3 for the DC Racing team created by David Cheng

The LM P3 class in the 2015/2016 season of the Asian Le Mans Series will welcome an additional unit after the announcement of a Ligier JS P3's arrival for the DC Racing team (also called David Cheng Racing), present in the No. 29 Morgan-Nissan for the Pegasus Racing team at the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June.

David Cheng, two-time Asian Le Mans Series champion in 2013 and 2014 with OAK Racing, is out on his own with the stated goal of winning so as to score an invitation in the LM P2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Prototypes in LM P3, an apprenticeship discipline, are not approved to take the start of the 24 Hours.

The Chinese driver will be on familiar ground since he participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans with a Ligier JS P2 in 2014 with OAK Racing and with a Morgan in 2015. The two chassis originated from the workshops of Onroak Automotive, OAK Racing's constructor branch, just like the Ligier JS P3.

In the Asian Le Mans Series, the latter will be driven by David Cheng and Ho-Pin Tung, with whom he finished ninth in the LM P2 class at Le Mans this year and seventh last year. Though the third driver will be announced later, the identity of the team manager, Rémy Brouard, has been revealed. He joined OAK Racing after having served as the General Director of the Automobile Club de l'Ouest.

First race for the young outfit at Fuji, Japan on October 11th.
