Doug Fehan (Corvette) and the Spirit of Le Mans

Doug Fehan, Corvette Racing Program Manager, is now a stalwart of the 24 Hours of Le Mans: this is the sixteenth year in-a-row that Corvette Racing enters the double around the clock race. Last year, Doug Fehan received the "Spirit of Le Mans" trophy during Le Mans week.

"This was one of the best days in my racing career. I had no idea that I would get the 'Spirit of Le Mans' trophy for a very simple reason: it never crossed my mind that the ACO would think that I deserve this trophy. I felt really honored not only to receive the trophy but also the Rolex that came with it. I now make sure that I wear the watch at every iconic race like Daytona or Sebring and of course, this year at Le Mans. It's my lucky charm!"

Charming, Doug Fehan is definitely. He has so many good memories from Le Mans that you can spend hours listening to him, but the first one that comes to his mind is the class victory in 2001.

"It was only our second year at Le Mans and it rained pretty much the whole race. We were physically and mentally exhausted so we all got very emotional. We were so happy to climb on the first step of the podium in front of this huge crowd."

These past years, Lady Luck has not been on Corvette Racing's side at the 24 Hours of Le Mans as the "Vette" has not won its class since 2011. For its first Le Mans last year, the C7.R finished second in the LM GTE Pro class thanks to Jan Magnussen, Antonio Garcia and Jordan Taylor while the sister car crossed the finish line in 4th.

The crews have been revamped for the 83th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Ryan Briscoe joins Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia in the No. 63 car whereas Jordan Taylor is now teaming up with Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner in the No. 64 car.

Hopefully Doug Fehan's lucky charm will be bring luck to the American team this year!
