The 2011 calendar of the Le Mans Series was unveiled last week with a question regarding the final destination. This will be Estoril in Portugal from 23 to 25 September.

Built in 1972 in a seaside resort on the outskirts of Lisbon, this circuit has consistently hosted F1. Remember those nostalgic memories including Jacques Villeneuve passing Michael Schumacher on the Parabolica in 1996, the terrible flight of Ricardo Patrese in 1991 after running into the rear of Gerhard Berger as the Austrian dived into the pits, or the first victory by Ayrton Senna in 1985.

4182 meters long it includes fast corners and slow corners, including the famous "Corkscrew". It will for the first ever visit of the 'Le Mans Series' (although the 'European Le Mans Series' had a 1000km race there in 2001) , and will - with Imola - be one of the great innovations of the 2011 season.

Le Mans Series schedule 2011:

March 11-12, Official Test - Paul Ricard circuit (France)
1-2-3 April, 6 Hours of Le Castellet (France)
6-7-8 May 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps (Belgium)
1-2-3 July, 6 hours Imola (Italy)
9-10-11 September 6 Hours of Silverstone (England)

23-24-25 September, 6 hours Estoril (Portugal)
