Julien Jousse joins Pescarolo Team

Following today’s official announcement of the selected team participating to the next 24 hours of le mans from the automobile club de l’ouest

Following today’s official announcement of the selected team participating to the next 24 hours of Le Mans from the Automobile Club de l’Ouest (ACO), Pescarolo Team Autovision is proud to reveal it’s third driver for the forthcoming Le Mans Series championship and the world’s most famous 24 hours race. Young French driver Julien Jousse who did most of his career in single seater championships and entered the last two 24 hours of Le Mans editions on the Luc Alphand Aventures Corvette will join Emmanuel Collard and Christophe Tinseau on the official Pescarolo Judd N° 16 for the whole LMS championship and the next 24 hours of Le Mans.

For Henri Pescarolo, choosing young French drivers for the 24 hours of Le Mans is a tradition which started with ELF in 1994. Back then, Emmanuel Collard and Franck Lagorce were discovering Endurance, sharing the driver’s seat with Henri himself on the Filière ELF Courage. When Henri Pescarolo became team manager, he took the responsibility along with long time partner and technical director Claude Galopin to select and train fresh Gallic single-seater drivers. Today, most of them are now confirmed front-runners in the Endurance world.

For Henri Pescarolo, “Picking up a boy to drive a Le Mans prototype is rather complex and we received lots of applications this year. Sheer speed is not enough, you have to be fast, consistent, never make the slightest mistake while being able to integrate a group and interact with the technical team. I’ve been watching closely Julien Jousse after his promising results in single seater cars, when he was racing with Luc Alphand Aventures on the Corvette. He has all the qualities needed and he’s a serious kid. He will be an excellent teammate for Christophe and Emmanuel.

Julien Jousse: “ I’m delighted to join Pescarolo Team Autovision and I want to thank Henri for his trust, giving me the opportunity to drive the Pescarolo LMP1 for his great come-back. Being part of this new adventure along with Henri and his numerous fans is an honor. I get visible signs of popular infatuation with the rebirth of his team almost everyday. The forthcoming season is a new challenge for me because I am putting aside single seaters to fully invest myself into this project. Since my 2008 vice-champion title in World Series 3.5, I haven’t been involved with a French team. My teammates are prestigious and I’m impatient to drive a Pescarolo prototype at the next 24 hours of Le Mans… after two exciting years with Luc Alphand Aventures where I gathered experience of Endurance racing. My target is to win the non-diesel LMP1 category in Le Mans and the LMS championship, two realistic objectives !”
