Lone Star Le Mans – Rebellion Racing claims top spot for second time this FIA WEC season

Swiss team Rebellion Racing has clinched its second win of the 2019-2020 FIA World Endurance Championship season. The two Toyota TS050 Hybrids rounded out the podium at the six-hour race at the Circuit of The Americas in Austin, Texas this weekend.

The top step on the podium at the fifth race of the 2019-2020 FIA WEC season was claimed by the Rebellion Racing's #1 car driven by Menezes-Nato-Senna. The non-hybrid LMP1 finished ahead of the #8 and #7 Toyota TS050 Hybrids with significant Success Handicaps. The FIA World Endurance Championship prototype and GT race was attended by 22,000 spectators this weekend.

In the LMP2 class, Zak Brown and Richard Dean's team United Autosports took the start in its first race at the Circuit of The Americas, winning its second round in a row and climbing to first place in the class standings.

Aston Martin dominated both LMGTE Pro and LMGTE Am with the Vantage, scoring its third win in five races in the Pro class, and Thiim and Sorensen are now leading the championship. The TF Sport team reached the top step on the Am podium.

For its first FIA World Endurance Championship race, the all-new Corvette C8-R finished sixth in the LMGTE Pro class.

The next round is set for 20 March at SuperSebring in Florida.
