Nissan Motorsports International Co., better known as 'Nismo', will acquire new premises in 2013 ... Could this be the beginning of an ambitious future?
In 2011, the engines developed by Nismo won their category at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, ILMC, as well as LMS.
Encouraged by these successes, the manufacturer today announed the launch of a major development program. "Nismo has carved out an enviable reputation in motor racing," said Carlos Ghosn, Nissan President and CEO. "In fact, in 2011, Nismo cars and engines won in every category they competed in… the first time we have achieved this milestone. ... "The time is now right to let ordinary drivers experience what our racing drivers enjoy every time they head out onto the track."
Early in 2013, Nismo will transfer its operations to a new global headquarters in Tsurumi (Yokohama). By bringing together under one roof all the activities of Nismo, this move will create a global center of excellence dedicated to the development of racing and road cars... Could this strengthen the commitment of the manufacturer in endurance racing?
