Oreca extended their driver line-up with Olivier Panis who distinguished himself during the last 24 Hours of Le Mans, creating a trio that blends speed and passion with experience. Olivier Panis, Nicolas Lapierre and Loic Duval will be involved in Sebring, Spa and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Hugues de Chaunac, Oreca team boss: "In choosing our third driver, we clearly had several options. We have seriously considered each of them, but Oliver was so keen that we agreed to a test session. It was held last week on the Paul Ricard circuit and went perfectly smoothly. I must say I was surprised he went beyond what was expected. It is a factor that counted. Olivier is also a natural leader. Through his charisma, he is more than a driver. Finally, he was immediately up to speed: for years he has been an important element in the cohesion of our team, and he has driven the Peugeot 908 HDi FAP. "
Olivier Panis, Driver: "I was very pleased wih the whole team: there is always a pleasant ambiance. I hadn't driven in a prototype since Budapest last August and it was important for me to know where I was, both in terms of driving and aspiration. I am satisfied with the lap times achieved and I am having fun and not ready to retire yet (laughs)! "
