Unveiled during the week of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2010, the Panoz Abruzzi will start the fourth round American Le Mans Series, to be held in Mosport (Canada) on the 24th of July.
Ian James has Edward Sandström as his Swedish teammate, former winner of the Porsche Carrera Cup and FIA GT3. regular competitor in Sweden.
In October 2010 the Panoz Abruzzi was seen for the first time on the track during a demonstration in prologue of Petit Le Mans, the penultimate round of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup and closing round of the American Le Mans Series at Road Atlanta. An important place for Don Panoz, founder of the marque and creator of the ALMS, who is based here: in 1999 a Panoz prototype won the second running of this race, with David Brabham, Andy Wallace and Eric Bernard at the wheel.
This marque has ten class wins, including eight overall in the American Le Mans Series.
