The LM P1 privateer Trophy in the FIA World Endurance Championship was secured by Rebellion at Fuji last weekend, and the Anglo-Swiss team then came at Petit Le Mans with the aim of winning overall. The Lola-Toyota is followed on the grid by the Honda HPD ARX-03a of Graf, Luhr and Dumas and the Lola-Mazda of Dyson Smith and Kane, in the fight for the title in LM P1 in the ALMS. Qualifying in LM P2 was headed up by a pair of Morgan Nissans with OAK Racing ahead of Conquest Endurance. Both teams are vying for titles in LM P2 in the European Le Mans Series and American Le Mans Series repectively.
The Nissan DeltaWing retains its place in the top 10 won in the last free practice session, with the tenth time in qualifying. However, due to running unclassified, it will start from the back of the grid. In GT, the two Ferrari 458 Italia of Extreme Speed Motorsports team set the two best performances, with the added bonus of the new class record for Ed Brown, Guy Cosmo and Anthony Lazzaro. The two Italian GTs were ahead of the BMW M3 of Müller, Auberlen and Summerton and the factory Corvette of Gavin, Milner and Westbrook. The start of Petit Le Mans will be on Saturday, October 20th at 16:30 UK time.
