Porsche interested in Mark Webber

Porsche with Mark Webber ?

Red Bull driver could find refuge at Stuttgart !

Porsche may be interested in Mark Webber for their driver line-up in the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2014. This rumour that started in Bild magazine was not denied by Oliver Hilger (Porsche communication) in an interview by Motorsport Magazin.

Porsche will return next year in the top class of endurance racing (LM P1). Although the German marque already has the "ten fastest drivers" Oliver Hilger did not close the door to Mark Webber, current driver for Red Bull Racing in Formula 1. "He would have all the qualities to drive with us”, said the head of communications. "He has been in Formula 1 for more than a decade, he has already raced twice at Le Mans with Mercedes. He knows the road that leads to us in Stuttgart. "

The potential engagement with Porsche would be a homecoming for Webber who raced with Mercedes in endurance during 1998 and 1999. He has good reason to remember 1999. His CLR (literally) flew during qualifying and again during the warm-up on Saturday morning. The car did not start the race.
