Prototypes from the 24 Hours of Le Mans to feature at the 77th Goodwood Members' Meeting

The 2019 Goodwood Members’ Meeting will be held on 6-7 April and, for the first time in the event’s history, a number of prototypes from the 24 Hours of Le Mans are to take part.

The Members’ Meeting marks the opening of the motorsport season at the Goodwood circuit. The two-day event is a demonstration of some of the most prestigious cars in motor racing, held on the former RAF airfield that was turned into a race track by Frederick Gordon-Lennox, the 9th Duke of Richmond in 1948.

The meeting will feature prototypes that have raced the 24 Hours of Le Mans since the turn of the 21st century. They include the Audi R8, the Peugeot 908, the Lola Aston Martin B09/60 and the Porsche 919 Hybrid. “Le Mans Prototypes are some of the fastest racing cars in the world, and some of the most fascinating. What other race has seen victories for petrol, diesel and hybrid cars in just a quarter of a century?” asks Matt Hearn, Goodwood Event Content Manager, before adding: “We have chosen to run the demo as dusk falls on Saturday, to capture some of that Le Mans magic.
