Rain arrives at Spa

Threatened since Thursday, the rain waited until race day to fall on the circuit. A headache for teams who are forced to improvise new settings in a hurry.

The famous "Spa bowl" lived up to its reputation, and since early this morning, the thick cloud ceiling continually poured water onto the track. If the majority of competitors in the FIA World Endurance Championship preferred the race to be on a dry track, but some can not help but see the rain as a possible advantage. "Anything can happen", commented the Belgian Bertrand Baguette yesterday. "One can always hope that Audi are less dominating or that their hybrid system may fail. "

WHAT DOES IT CHANGE?
Soheil Ayari, Oreca-Nissan LM P2 of Pecom Racing: "Everything is questioned. The rear wing, ride height, suspension ... Everything must be changed. In these moments, it's engineers that have good intuition. This is 'the judgement' it all happens because, with only 20 minutes of Warm Up, we did not have time to tweak the settings. It would take a few hours of free practice to define the optimal balance. In addition, we lack experience because we have not been racing in the rain for over a year. "

Rainfall may not be to everyone's taste - and especially not spectators! - But the racing will be spectacular... Race start at 14:30!
