Hope PoleVision Racing, which will enter a hybrid powered LM P1 prototype in ILMC this year, confirms the presence of Steve Zacchia in their ranks.
After two seasons in Formula Le Mans, the Swiss team will engage an LM P1 hybrid in the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup. The car will be based on a Oreca chassis and powered by an engine developed in collaboration with the preparer Lehmann. This block will benefit from KERS flywheel designed by the company Flybrid.
Benoît Morand, owner of Hope PoleVision: "It was a priority for us to have Steve as a driver. After a 2010 season in Formula Le Mans, he proved not only his reliability but also an improvement in speed that has progressed throughout the season. As proof, at the last race at Silverstone he dominated with his teammate Olivier Lombard before receiving a penalty. His two teammates will be announced in the coming days. "
Steve Zacchia, driver: "The proposed hybrid for 2011 is a big challenge, it interests me even more because it is a challenge with everyday, implications both racing and on the road. Obviously, my passion as a driver pushes me a little closer to its potential in racing. Indeed, vis-à-vis other competitors, is a formidable challenge, because everybody does not run with hybrid technology. Being one of the first drivers to race hybrid cars is exceptional, even in a small team that challenges the greats! "
