When you think of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, you most likely think of cars, speed, racing at night, strategy, etc. But behind every prototype are drivers, mechanics, engineers and logistics specialists who also undergo their own form of endurance test. For that reason, TDS Racing has created TDS Racing Impact, an endowment fund committed to supporting mental health.
Highlighting the importance of mental health in a performance-driven environment
Motorsport is a highly demanding endeavor. Race weeks come one after the other, schedules are modified, the pressure to deliver results is relentless and crucial decisions are often made on the fly.
TDS Racing believes sustainable performance level also relies on mental well-being. In 2025, the team’s endowment fund began organising round-tables of athletes, experts and executives to discuss these often-overlooked issues. This year, the commitment is reinforced through a partnership with the FondaMental Foundation, a leading French association in mental illness research. So far, two round-table discussions on mental health in sport have been organised annually, and in 2026, TDS Racing Impact became a patron of the FondaMental Foundation.
the 24 Hours of le Mans is also about human endurance
The 94th 24 Hours provided an opportunity to share this message with the general public. During race week, TDS Racing Impact made an appearance in the Karting Fan Zone to discuss mental health in the world of endurance racing.
This theme resonates particularly strongly at Le Mans race where endurance is never merely a mechanical undertaking, but also a human one. It amounts to the ability to stay sharp after a sleepless night, to manage fatigue, to support one's team after a setback and bounce back from disappointment.
24 Hours regulars know very well that what often leaves the deepest impression isn't just lap times, but stories of teamwork, resilience and solidarity that unfold as the hours tick by.
representing the core values of the 24 Hours of le Mans
By creating TDS Racing Impact, the French outfit is extending the spirit of endurance racing beyond the track. Mental health, the environment and exploring motorsport careers are all initiatives aimed at giving meaning to performance.
This initiative serves as a reminder that Le Mans is also a place where people learn to work together, to weather difficult times and to celebrate collective achievements — and sometimes simply to acknowledge it is okay to talk about what is going on in one’s head.
TDS Racing won the LMP2 prize for the Sustainable Endurance Award by DHL at the this year's 24 Hours.
In a sport where strength is widely admired, this team reminds us there is another form of courage: to care for the men and women who make endurance racing possible.
