On Sunday the 10th of June and Monday 11th June will be administrative and technical inspections known as 'scrutineering'.

This year it is in the Place de la Republique in the centre of the city. Scrutineering is in three stages:

Position 1: Measurements are made of (among other things) length, width, wheelbase, weight, air intake diameter, the fin height and the body of the car.

Position 2: The flat bottom, the skid block (also known as the 'plank'), and diffusers are inspected.

Position 3: All the safety elements are carefully examined, such as the fire extinguisher, seat belts, roll hoops, pedals, instrument panel, telemetry, fuel tank, lighting and timing system. Finally, the official stickers of the Le Mans 24 Hours are affixed. In total, it takes about 45 minutes for these checks to be made.

If the car is deemed unacceptable, it must be re-checked after the mechanics have done the necessary repairs. If at the second inspection it is deemed compliant, it may participate in the race.
