The Bugatti Chiron at the 24 Hours of Le Mans this Saturday

The Bugatti Chiron will be seen on French roads for the first time this Saturday (18 June). The world’s most powerful, most luxurious and most exclusive production supercar will take to the Circuit de la Sarthe for a lap of honour ahead of the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Unveiled in February 2016 at the Geneva Motor Show, the Bugatti Chiron is about to make its maiden appearance in France, the country that saw the birth of the Bugatti marque. The worthy descendant of the Veyron will pay tribute to the circuit where Bugatti celebrated two of their most prestigious victories, in 1937 and 1939, by completing a lap of honour on Saturday 18 June. A sight not to be missed!

The Bugatti Chiron’s specifications are head-spinning. It has an 8-litre W16 engine with 1600 Nm of torque, developing 1500 brake-horsepower. Its top on-road speed has been restricted by the manufacturer to 420 kph. The Chiron is nonetheless well placed to break Bugatti’s own world land speed record. An attempt should soon be made to improve on the phenomenal speed of 431.072 kph clocked by the Veyron SS. It is expected that the Chiron will take the record beyond the 450 kph mark – especially as the cockpit speedometer goes up to 500 kph!
