The ByKOLLES Racing team testing at Spa after Le Mans and ahead of Silverstone

Austrian team ByKOLLES Racing will hit the track again on 8 August for a testing session at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit. The goal is to validate its high downforce aerodynamics kit to be used through the end of the year in the World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) on the ENSO CLM P1/01 fielded in the LMP1 class.

Significant improvement achieved during the offseason by ByKOLLES Racing rendered it hopeful for a good result at the 2018 24 Hours on the heels of a fourth place finish at the first round of the 2018-2019 World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) Super Season at Spa-Francorchamps in early May.

Unfortunately, an incident Saturday evening at Le Mans for Dominik Kraihamer after contact was made with Ebimotors' #80 Porsche 911 removed Colin Kolles' team from contention. The good news was the Austrian driver emerged unscathed, the bad news was the #4 ENSO CLM P1/01 was forced to retire.

For the remainder of the year, the prototype fielded in the LMP1 class will be equipped with a high downforce aero kit better suited for the upcoming circuits and is set to be validated during a session at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit on 8 August by Austrian testing driver René Binder as well as Enzo Guibbert.

This will be the French driver's debut in LMP1 after competing in the 24 Hours of Le Mans at the wheel of G-Drive Racing's #40 ORECA 07 run by French team Graff. Enzo Guibbert's participation ended in a retirement after a teammate's incident early Sunday morning.
