The Ligier JS P3, a contender in the LM P3 class created by the Automobile Club de l'Ouest, was officially presented during the week of the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in June by Onroak Automotive, the constructor branch of OAK Racing.

At the 94th 24 Hours of Le Mans, Team WRT opened its doors to pupils with learning difficulties in the clear belief that everyone has something to bring to the motorsport table.

<p>The two-day event gave a class of pupils with special needs the opportunity to witness a facet of the 24 Hours of Le Mans that few spectators get chance to see. Thanks to racing driver<strong> Maxime Robin</strong>, his association Framework 24, and go-kart expert <strong>Gabin L&eacute;ger,</strong> they experienced the very essence of the event with <strong>Team WRT</strong>. The pupils were treated to karting sessions and garage tours and were introduced to team members. Team WRT set out to show that motorsport is a team sport, in which everyone has a role to play.</p>

<h2>Leaving the comfort zone, one lap at a time</h2>

<p>Day 1 was at the go-kart track. But it wasn&rsquo;t all about driving. The young participants were encouraged <strong>to work as a team, to take turns, and to make progress together </strong>&ndash; a direct experience of endurance racing values. To some, taking the wheel of a go-kart was a challenge in itself. Others learned to trust their teammates or step outside their comfort zone.</p>

<p>Just like at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, speed was not the only key to success. It was based on <strong>mutual aid, perseverance and individual contribution to a collective goal</strong>.</p>

<p>Gabin L&eacute;ger took part in a similar Team WRT initiative last year. This year, he recounted his career history to the pupils, sharing his love of go-karting and the challenges he has overcome as he pursues his life goals. This real-life illustration impressed Team WRT&rsquo;s point.</p>

<h2>Behind a race car there&rsquo;s a host of people</h2>

<p>Day 2 was a discovery of the behind-the-scenes operations at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The group took a tour of the Team WRT Hypercar and LMGT3 garages, watching mechanics and engineers at work, and observing an array of less well-known roles. Communication, logistics, catering, management and coordination are all indispensable to the day-to-day running of and endurance racing team.</p>

<p>The immersion was the perfect way to convey the message that there is more to motorsport than meets the eye. Behind every 24 Hours of Le Mans entry there are dozens of people contributing to the race effort.</p>

<p>The young visitors left with<strong> fresh perspectives</strong>. Some can now see themselves in a workshop, others in a design bureau or in event organisation roles. All are convinced of the wide range of jobs available in motorsport.</p>

<p>Team WRT CSR Manager <strong>L&eacute;a Dumoulin: <em>&ldquo;The project aims to incite vocations. We set out to show that motorsport is a whole ecosystem, built on teamwork and perseverance and that there are manys ways in. If we convince just one pupil that they have a role to play here, then we&rsquo;ve succeeded.&rdquo;</em></strong></p>

<p>The initiative is part of of a wider Team WRT scheme to promote inclusion and transmission. The team also hosted trainees from the&nbsp;<a href="https://www.garageecoledumans.fr/" target="_blank"><u><strong>Garage &Eacute;cole du Mans</strong></u></a> in their Hypercar and LMGT3 teams, offering them hands-on experience in a pit lane box.</p>

<p>Aston Martin THOR Team open their doors to young people looking for <strong>workplace immersion</strong>. They recently hosted <strong>Hugo, a trainee on a discovery programme</strong>. Initially a short-term arrangement, the experience led to a job contract.</p>

<p>Month after month, Hugo worked alongside the technical teams. Today, he <strong>assembles car parts </strong>and contributes to sub-assembly operations at the team headquarters. His path perfectly illustrates Aston Martin THOR Team&rsquo;s intention of providing hands-on opportunities to discover the full spectrum of motorsport.</p>

Immersion at Aston Martin THOR Team sparks a career in motorsport

The McLaren MCL-HY was introduced to the public for the first time at Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier today. The demonstration is a milestone on the British Hypercar’s route to the 2027 24 Hours of Le Mans.

<p>At <strong>McLaren Racing</strong>, the countdown to Le Mans began a while ago. Following several weeks of testing behind closed doors, the <a href="https://www.24h-lemans.com/en/news/mclaren-mcl-hy-a-name-with-a-hint-of-promise-for-the-24-hours-of-le-mans-60533"><strong>MCL-HY</strong></a> was revealed to the crowd at <strong>Goodwood Festival of Speed</strong> today. Thousands of fans applauded the British Hypercar that will be racing under the McLaren banner at the<strong> 24 Hours of Le Mans</strong> and the <strong>FIA World Endurance Championship from 2027</strong>.</p>

<h2>First encounter with fans</h2>

<p>The story of a prototype begins long before the starting grid. The McLaren MCL-HY has just written the introduction: the first encounter with the motor racing public. Testing is still ongoing &ndash; the <strong>development programme</strong> is only in its tenth week &ndash; but McLaren Racing were loath to pass up the chance of presenting the Hypercar to the knowledgable, passionate fans at Goodwood Festival of Speed.</p>

<p>Development continues for the car revealed digitally on 4 May 2026. After its run up the famous Goodwood hill, the prototype will head back to the test circuit to continue development.</p>

<p>It was important to begin sharing the MCL-HY with fans. The prototype is the first McLaren destined to compete for overall victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans since the esteemed <strong><a href="https://www.24h-lemans.com/en/news/24-hours-centenary-mclaren-an-f1-takes-on-le-mans-57424">F1 GTR</a></strong> that won the race on first attempt in 1995. Over thirty years later, a new McLaren generation is hoping to become a legend too.</p>

<p>The McLaren MCL-HY&rsquo;s <strong>twin-turbo V6 engine</strong> is designed to deal with the demands of the Hypercar class. However, like all the cars in the category, there is more to this prototype than power. At the 24 Hours of Le Mans, every detail is important: reliability, strategy, and staying power &ndash; of drivers and their racing machines. The delicate combination of these ingredients sets the French classic apart. No other race is as unforgiving as Le Mans.</p>

<p>In 2027, McLaren will join <strong>Aston Martin, BMW, Cadillac, Ferrari, Ford, Genesis, Peugeot and Toyota</strong> in the Hypercar field. Be prepated for a historic clash of the titans.</p>

But the truth is, it&rsquo;s extremely early in our test programme so it was very lightly pencilled in. 	Though not eligible to race at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, LM P3 class cars can compete in the European Le Mans Series and the Asian Le Mans Series, while the American TUDOR United SportsCar Championship considers eventual approval. Interested competitors are also able to take part in Test Day at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, which takes place two weeks before the race, so as to gain experience: the LM P3 class is the foundation of the endurance pyramid allowing young newcomers and gentlemen-drivers to hone their skills before jumping into LM P2, or even LM P1 for the most talented among them...</p>
