Zhuhai 6 hours : Top 3 objective for Rebellion Racing

After taking the teams and constructors titles in LM P1 in the Le Mans Series, the 6 Hours of Zhuhai could allow Rebellion Racing to finish the 2011 season on a high note.

Results in the first six rounds of the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup have enabled the Anglo-Swiss team to dislodge Team Oreca Matmut, third of the team standings behind the Peugeot and Audi factory teams, which would put Rebellion Racing as the best private team in LM P1 for the ILMC 2011. Nico Prost and Neel Jani will be the drivers for the race. The Franco-Swiss pair are focused on ending the season the best way with a podium finish in the race. They are both fully ready to face a really competitive battle with the Oak Racing and Aston Martin Racing.

Nicolas Prost (pilote Lola-Toyota n°12, Rebellion Racing) : "I am expecting a strong fight with the Oak Racing cars. This track with a lot of slow corners may help us to be closer to the diesel cars, but I don’t think that we could race with them. The team has worked very hard all season, running cars in both the Le Mans Series and the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup was a immense effort for a private team. To be able to finish on the race podium and third in the Teams classification would be the best way to reward all the team for their effort this year."

Neel Jani (pilote Lola-Toyota n°12, Rebellion Racing) : "I have good memories from Zhuhai as I have raced there in A1GP. I made a pole position and finished the race on the podium. I don’t think we could get the pole this time… but reaching the podium could be possible. It will be good to race with only 29 cars on the track in comparison to more than 50 that we had in Atlanta !"

Bart Hayden (Team Manager Rebellion Racing) : The 6 Hours of Zhuhai will be the last race of the season and the last of the
Intercontinental Le Mans Cup story. Third place in the Teams classification is still achievable and we would like to leave our team name in the record books, like we have in the Le Mans Series by winning the last championship with the LMP1 cars. The team have shown this year their professionalism, skill, ability and dedication. They deserve that kind of honour, the cars have had good reliability and real pace all season long. The Zhuhai 6 hours will be on the 13th November. Click here for more information on the final race of the ILMC 2011.
