The closing round of the FIA World Endurance Championship takes place this weekend in Bahrain. The provisional entry list has been revised following a few driver changes, particularly affecting the Aston Martin line-ups.
The 8 Hours of Bahrain, the eighth and final round of the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), will see a number of world titles and trophies awarded this weekend. Unfortunately for Alex Lynn, who was still in the running with Maxime Martin for the GT FIA World Endurance Drivers’ Championship crown, a positive Covid-19 test means he will have to self-isolate at home and will miss the race. Richard Westbrook will stand in for Lynn in the #97 Aston Martin Vantage AMR. Martin currently lies in second place, 15 points behind Aston Martin stablemates Marco Sørensen and Nicki Thiim in the #95 car (photo).
In the LMGTE Am class, Westbrook will be replaced in the #98 Aston Martin Racing Vantage by Pedro Lamy. The Portuguese driver will line up with Paul Dalla Lana and Ross Gunn.
“It’s incredibly disappointing to end the FIA World Endurance Championship season in this way, especially after the amazing high of the Le Mans victory that brought us back into title contention,” said Lynn. “I wish all my teammates the best of luck this weekend, but especially Maxime and Richard.”
