24 Hours of Le Mans – Jota finally hits its target

The British outfit had one goal and that was victory. Check out what the drivers in the #38 Oreca 07 - Gibson – Roberto Gonzalez, Antonio Felix Da Cota et Will Stevens – had to say as they stepped down from the podium.

Roberto Gonzalez

“I’m extremely happy and proud. It’s been a dream for us to win this race. The team did a magnificent job all week. It’s great to win after my brother Ricardo, who triumphed in the same class in 2013. Le Mans has been good to us Mexicans, Le Mans likes Mexico.”

Antonio Felix Da Costa

“The 24 Hours of Le Mans is a special race and needs no introduction. It’s not only a 24-hour race, it’s the whole week, it’s Test Day, it’s all the anticipation, the weeks before. It takes a lot. We’re the ones lifting the trophy at the end but it’s a big a team effort. So it’s special for everyone. It means a lot of compromises, but we nailed it!”

Will Stevens

I’ve been trying for a few years to get the win here in LMP2 so it means a lot to finally get it, especially with this team. With these guys, after coming in and filling Ant’s [Anthony Davidson] shoes. We’ve had a few good races and a lot of momentum coming into this week, and we rolled off last Sunday [Test Day] with a super strong car. Credit to all the work they all did before I arrived. The car was a pleasure to drive from start to finish. You can see how competitive this field actually is, with all the top teams there, so credit to Jota for getting two cars on the podium. I’m super happy that we could get the win, and hopefully it’s one of many this year.”
