Meetings, conversations, friendly competition in karting, strong feelings for the Bugatti circuit...but above all, passion. Among the women in this video, easily recognizable is Vanina Ickx, Also in the video is Belgian driver Christine Beckers (four participations at the 24 Hours), who was a part of the first two years of Jean Rondeau's era, finishing the race twice at the wheel of Inaltéra prototypes, with 21st place in 1976 and 11th in 1977.
These last few years, women have emerged at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with the presence of the trio Cyndie Allemann-Rahel Frey-Natacha Gachnang in 2010, and two great performances in 2011. That year, Vanina Ickx, for her seventh and last 24 Hours, achieved her best result by finishing seventh, while Andrea Robertson reached the third step on the podium in the LM GTE Am class along with her husband. In 2013, Gachnang finished fifth in the LM P2 class.
In three months, the women of the 24 Hours of Le Mans will be in full force at the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans!
