At Laguna Seca, just south of San Francisco, the third round of the American Le Mans Series the Honda HPD ARX-03a of title holders Klaus Graf and Lucas Luhr scored a second consecutive victory.
At Laguna Seca, after a hard battle with the Lola-Toyota of Neel Jani and Nick Heidfeld, Lucas Luhr became the new record holder for victories in ALMS, with his 43rd success.

The first tenant of the 56th pit at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, reserved for an innovative car running outside classification, the DeltaWing ran in the LM P1 class in ALMS. It finished the race in the hands of the British duo; Andy Meyrick and Katherine Legge. In LM P2, Honda scored a 1-2 finish thanks to the two cars of Level 5 Motorsports.
GT: Corvette, a victory before the 24 Hours for Jan Magnussen and Antonio Garcia ahead of the Porsche 911 of the Falken Tire team by less than a second. The BMW Z4 GTE of Dirk Müller and John Edwards completed the podium. The factory Corvette team is one of the big favourites of the LM GTE Pro class of the 90th anniversary edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, where they will join Ferrari, Porsche and Aston Martin, regular competitors of the FIA World Endurance Championship.
Dempsey Racing Del Piero came close to victory. After signing the third time in qualifying GTC, Porsche 911 Patrick Dempsey and Andy Lally was still head of the class entering the final round, but could not withstand the onslaught of another final Porsche, driven by Nick Tandy. Patrick Dempsey: "Andy led for a long time, it was unfortunate that yellow came out with 10 minutes left, but it was a great battle” welcomed Patrick Dempsey. “It is the first time ever for me racing that I know that I can win a race." Driven by Michael Avenatti and Andrew Davis, the second 911 of the team finished sixth in class. The next appointment for Patrick Dempsey is his return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans on the 22nd and 23rd of June, four years after his first visit.
