FIA WEC: Job van Uitert to line up for Racing Team Nederland at Silverstone and Shanghai

Racing Team Nederland has hired Dutch driver Job van Uitert for the 4-hour races at Silverstone and Shanghai. He will replace Nyck de Vries and Frits van Eerd respectively at the wheel of the #29 Oreca 07-Gibson LMP2.

Due to other commitments, Racing Team Nederland has been forced to change its driver line-up for the opening round of the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship at Silverstone (1 September 2019) and for the 4 Hours of Shanghai, the third race on the FIA WEC calendar, on 10 November 2019. With Nyck de Vries contesting the ninth round of the FIA F2 championship in Belgium, Job van Uitert will stand in for him at Silverstone. He will also replace the absent Frits van Eerd in China two months later. The driver line-up in the #29 Oreca 07-Gibson will be:

  • 4 Hours of Silverstone: Frits van Eerd/Giedo van der Garde/Job van Uitert
  • 4 Hours of Shanghai: Giedo van der Garde/Nyck de Vries/Job van Uitert

Van Uitert is competing in the 2019 European Le Mans Series in the #26 Aurus 01-Gibson of G-Drive Racing. The 20-year-old Dutchman also appeared for the Russian outfit at Le Mans in June (P11 overall and P6 in LMP2).
After two seasons running a Dallara P217-Gibson, Racing Team Nederland has switched to the Oreca 07-Gibson with technical support from French team TDS Racing. The two structures recently completed two days of testing at Motorland Aragón in Spain. Racing Team Nederland will be in Barcelona on 23-24 July for the Prologue, the first official tests of FIA WEC Season 8.
