Lamborghini hires Daniil Kvyat for 2024 Hypercar programme

After Mirko Bortolotti, Andrea Caldarelli and Romain Grosjean, former Formula One driver Daniil Kvyat is set to join the ranks of Lamborghini. The Russian driver will take part in the full testing programme lined up for the Italian manufacturer’s new prototype this year.

The former Toro Rosso and Red Bull F1 driver has acquired an Italian licence for the programme with the Sant' Agata Bolognese-based firm. The Lamborghini Hypercar is scheduled to enter both the FIA WEC and the IMSA sportscar championship in 2024, backed by the experienced Iron Lynx structure.

Kvyat has a busy year ahead. In addition to the test sessions and develop work on the new Lamborghini Hypercar, he has signed up for a full WEC campaign at the wheel of the Prema Racing LMP2 with Bortolotti and Doriane Pin.

Daniil Kvyat: I am very happy to have joined Lamborghini Squadra Corse, it is a great honour for me. Lamborghini is a very well-known Italian brand with a great history in automotive world and, having grown up in Italy, this is an additional source of pride for me. We hope to achieve many goals together, I thank you for your trust in me and I look forward to starting work on the LMDh project later this year.
