Presented at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Panoz Abruzzi "Spirit of Le Mans" will make its racing debut at Petit Le Mans, on the 2nd of October under the ILMC.

Not yet approved in LM GT2, it will run outside classification like the Porsche 911 GT3-R Hybrid. Drivers will be the Swiss Benjamin Leuenberger and Briton Ian James. This will be a reunion between Panoz and Leuenberger, since he drove the Panoz roadster LM P1 in 2003, as well as in the ALMS and 24 Hours of Le Mans.

TheTeam PTG of Tom Milner, who has been entrusted the development of the racing version, has worked hard to be ready in time. If Petit Le Mans works out well, the Panoz could also be entered in the 1000 km of Zuhai.

The Abruzzi is powered by a 6.2 litre V8 engine. Production of 81 cars is planned to start in 2011.
