On December 25, 1973, the film "The Sting" was officially released starring Robert Redford and Paul Newman. On June 10, 1979, Paul Newman finished second at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in a Porsche 935 along with Dick Barbour and Rolf Stommelen.
Paul Newman's Porsche 935 was sold at auction for $4,840,000 this past August at Monterey Car Week in California, one of the top vintage car gatherings in the U.S. During a (long) nine-year career, this car won at the Rolex 24 at Daytona, at the 12 Hours of Sebring and finished second overall at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
