24 Hours of Le Mans – BMW Team MTEK reveals its driver line-ups

BMW Team MTEK has now confirmed its driver line-ups for the two BMW M8 GTEs entered in the LMGTE Pro class at the 87th 24 Hours of Le Mans (15-16 June), the 2018-19 FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) grand finale.

Martin Tomczyk, Nicky Catsburg, Augusto Farfus and Antonio Felix Da Costa are regular drivers for BMW Team MTEK, competing for the full FIA World Endurance Championship season. They will be joined by Austrian Philipp Eng and Finnish driver Jesse Krohn at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the championship grand finale.

The #81 BMW M8 GTE will be driven by Tomczyk, Catsburg and 28-year-old Eng, who drives for BMW in DTM and already has two Le Mans starts to his name. In fact, he drove the same car for the German squad in La Sarthe last year. Farfus, Felix Da Costa and Krohn will share driving duties in the #82. This will be the Finnish driver’s Le Mans début, but not his first 24-hour race: he competed alongside Chaz Mostert, Alex Zanardi and John Edwards in a BMW M8 GTE at the 24 Hours of Daytona last January.

At this year’s 24 Hours of Mans, BMW will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of its triumph with the BMW V12 LMR.
