24 Hours of Le Mans – Harry Tincknell and Richard Westbrook join Aston Martin

Aston Martin Racing has announced the recruitment of two new drivers for the 88th Le Mans 24 Hours (13-14 June 2020): Harry Tincknell and Richard Westbrook.

Over the last four seasons, 44-year-old Richard Westbrook (nine Le Mans appearances, two 3rd places in class) has driven for Ford Chip Ganassi Team USA. The highlight of that spell was his GTLM class win at the 24 Hours of Daytona in the opening round of the 2018 IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship season. He previously represented Corvette Racing from 2011 to 2014. Westbrook will join forces with Nicki Thiim and Marco Sørensen in the #95 Aston Martin Vantage AMR for the 2020 24 Hours of Le Mans.
Harry Tincknell (six appearances in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, including one LMP2 class win and a second place in LMGTE Pro) is a former Ford Chip Ganassi Team UK racer. The 28-year-old will share the wheel of the #97 Aston Martin Vantage AMR with Alex Lynn and Maxime Martin.

The #98 Aston Martin Vantage AMR line-up will remain unchanged with Paul Dalla Lana, Darren Turner and Ross Gunn.

With its two new recruits, Aston Martin is showing that it means business in the race for the LMGTE Pro crown at the 88th running of the legendary 24-hour race (13-14 June 2020). The British constructor currently tops the GT manufacturer standings in the FIA World Endurance Championship, ahead of Porsche and Ferrari.

The next round of the championship will take place at the Circuit Of The Americas in Austin (Texas) on Sunday 23 February 2020.
