24 Hours of Le Mans - Porsche immortalizes the sound of the 919 Hybrid (video)

In 2017, on the heels of three consecutive wins at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Porsche 919 Hybrid said goodbye to the LMP1 class. Porsche has decided to pay tribute to the car with a captivating 24-minute audio experience.

The sound of the Porsche 919 Hybrid prototype's tires has been memorialized on vinyl record for all eternity. On the album, Porsche retraces its history at Le Mans with 24 of the German marque's most emblematic stories in 24 minutes. Former Porsche drivers Hans-Joachim Stuck, Derek Bell and Hans Herrmann chose to contribute to the recording, as did official 24 Hours speaker Bruno Vandestick.

Two hundred vinyl copies have been produced, with numbers 1 through 24 available at auction starting 24 February. Proceeds will go to local charity, Loisirs Pluriel. Founded in 1992, the mission of Loisirs Pluriel is to help all disabled children play, live and grow with other children, and to have access to recreational and holiday actitivies just like everyone else and with everyone else.
