Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans – In the cockpit with Patrick Pilet (Porsche)

This weekend Patrick Pilet will be competing in the Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans with Porsche Esports Team. He gave us a sneak peek of his cockpit for the race.

Patrick Pilet has raced the 24 Hours of Le Mans eleven times – no less – and is about to take part in the first Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans this weekend. He’ll be racing one of the four Porsche 911 RSRs entered by Porsche Esports Team, sharing the #94 with Simona de Silvestro and simracers Martin Krönke and David Williams.
Pilet, an ambassador for Porsche Carrera Cup France gives viewers a guided tour of his virtual Porsche 911 RSR cockpit. In the loft of his home, his workstation includes a bucket seat, steering wheel, pedals and a curved screen for maximum visibility. Pilet also explains some of the finer points of simracing.

The practice session for tomorrow’s race is from 10:00 to 17:00 CEST today, followed by GTE qualifying at 18:15–18:30 and LMP at 18:40–18:55. The qualifying sessions determine the starting grid.

Basketball star Tony Parker will officiate the start of the race tomorrow (Saturday 13 June) at 15:00 CEST. The 50-strong field of the Virtual 24 Hours of Le Mans is split into two classes: LMP and GTE. Representatives of professional motor racing and simracing form the driver line-up.
