WEC - An Oreca 07 for Thiriet by TDS Racing in 2017

ELMS Champion in 2012 and vice champion in 2015 and 2016, Thiriet by TDS Racing will be entering an Oreca 07 in the LM P2 of the World Endurance Championship next year.

Drivers François Perrodo and Emmanuel Collard, LM GTE Am winners this year, will form the crew with Matthieu Vaxivère for their eagerly-anticipated adventure. The new version of the Oreca has been designed to comply with the LM P2 rules that will come into force in 2017.

The Oreca 05, winner of the LM P2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans with KCMG in 2015, would still be eligible next year but team heads Xavier Combet and Jacques Morello preferred to move on straight away. It seems a logical decision and no doubt welcomed by gentleman driver Perrodo, who is new to the class and likely to want a seat for several seasons.

The engineer, who trained at the famous IFP school (formerly Ecole Nationale Supérieure du Pétrole et des Moteurs), has often partnered experienced Le Mans driver Emmanuel Collard (22 participations). Collard took pole position in the 2005 Le Mans 24 Hours and has two podium places to his name - shared with none other than Henri Pescarolo - plus an LM P2 class win in 2009 in the Porsche RS Spyder for Team Essex.

Matthieu Vaxivière also took the wheel of a Porsche, for ProSpeed Competition in the WEC LM GTE Am class two years ago. He missed Le Mans that season, having sustained an injury in the Monaco round of Formula Renault 3.5, so the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2017 will be a first for him.
