First the No. 27 SMP Racing BR 01 lost a tire that almost hit a Porsche. Then, the No. 29 Pegasus Racing Morgan got stuck in the gravel bed in the Porsche curves and the No. 43 Team SARD Morand Morgan stopped on the track with a mechanical issue.
As none of the three leading cars in the class encountered problems, they still hold their position, No. 47 KCMG and No. 46 Thiriet by TDS Racing Orecas lead ahead of the No. 26 G-Drive Racing Ligier.
In the LM P1 class, the No. 19 Porsche with Nick Tandy behind the wheel maintains the lead ahead of the No. 9 and No. 7 Audis. Because of the slow zone that has been on after the No. 43 car stopped, the pace slowed down a bit.
Aston Martin Racing is leading both LM GTE Pro and Am classes. The No. 99 Vantage driven by Fernando Rees is still ahead of the only Corvette that started the race, but last year's winner No 51 AF Corse Ferrari in now third, while the No. 91 Porsche slipped to fourth. Four different manufacturers hold the first four positions.
No change at all in the LM GTE Am class, and the No. 98 Aston Martin Vantage maintains its lead ahead of the No. 72 Ferrari and the No. 77 Proton-Dempsey Racing Porsche.
