Minassian will be used for driving a Lola-Ford Daytona Prototype run by Tracy Krohn, a partner of Ferrari F430 GT Risi Competizione for the last four 24 Hours of Le Mans. "I'm really happy to be racing at Daytona for the first time," enthused French driver. "For me, this is the third major event of endurance, after the 24 Hours of Le Mans and the 12 Hours of Sebring." At Daytona, he will join team mate Brazilian Ricardo Zonta; "he was part of the Peugeot team, and someone with who is easy to work with. "
For now, he is working in a "virtual" discovery of Daytona, before making his first real laps, "by data acquisition, and with the on- board camera." Note that part of the road circuit of the 24 Hours of Daytona is inside the oval used in the Nextel Cup, and borrows a large proportion of it "where it will be flat out! " smiled Nicolas Minassian.
He also will encounter the former Peugeot driver Christophe Bouchut in Florida. Winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans 1993 in a 905, he will drive a car from the Level 5 Motorsports team. The days of preliminary testing at the 24 Hours of Daytona will be held from January 7th to 9th.
