In LM P2, Martin Plowman and David Heinemeier Hansson (Morgan Nissan) scored their second win of the season ... ahead of the Lola-Judd coupé of Patrick Dempsey and Joe Foster, their best result so far in the ALMS.

Remaining with prototypes, the race at Road America saw the award of the first ALMS title in 2012 in the one-make category LMPC, which uses the Oreca chassis FLM09 that can be seen in Europe in Formula Le Mans. CORE autosport scored their second consecutive title, thanks to Alex Popow (which humorously admits in the video above you "near heart attack" in the last laps!) and Tom Kimber-Smith, who won the LM P2 class at the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2011 and 2012.

In GT it was the third victory in 2012 for the BMW M3 of Bill Auberlen and Jörg Müller, who won ahead of the Porsche 911 GT3 RSR of Jörg Bergmeister, Patrick Long (Flying Lizard Motorsports), the Ferrari 458 Italia of Johannes van Overbeek Scott Sharp (Extreme Speed Motorsports) and the Corvette of Oliver Gavin and Tommy Milner.

The next round of the American Le Mans Series 2012 will be held in Baltimore (Maryland) on September 1st.
