1992: Peugeot's first win at Le Mans

Though on June 13th this year, 56 competitors figured on the entry list at the 83rd edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans, on June 20, 1992, the grid held only...half that number after Jaguar and Mercedes left. Peugeot remained - as well as the two Japanese manufacturers, Toyota and Mazda.

Only one of these three manufacturers had won at the 24 Hours of Le Mans prior to the 60th edition, and each had but one goal: the trophy. Despite the rain, Peugeot, who had recruited from the pool of F1 drivers, won ahead of Toyota, Mazda, 1991's winner, achieving only a fourth place finish.

The trio Yannick Dalmas, for the first of his four wins, Derek Warwick and Mark Blundell claimed the top step on the podium with the Peugeot 905. One of these drivers is celebrating his birthday today... do you know which one?
