24 Hours of Le Mans – Keating Motorsports (LMGTE Am)

This year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans sees a record number of entrants on the grid. We take a look at the 43 teams behind the 62 cars in the field. Here we give you the lowdown on LMGTE AM team Keating Motorsports.

TEAM: KEATING MOTORSPORTS

Class: LMGTE Am

Cars and drivers:

#85 Ford GT

  • Ben Keating (four participations at the 24 Hours of Le Mans)
  • Jeroen Bleekemolen (13 participations at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, LMP2 class winner in 2008)
  • Felipe Fraga (first participation at the 24 Hours of Le Mans)

Team achievements

This is the third outing for Keating Motorsports at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. After entering the only LMP2 Riley chassis in the race in 2017, Ben Keating’s team switched to the LMGTE Am class with a Ferrari 488 GTE in 2018. The American team made it to the chequered flag on both occasions, finishing on the third step of the LMGTE Am podium in 2018.

Team goals for the 2019 24 Hours of Le Mans

In 2019, Keating Motorsports will be one of the main attractions on the LMGTE Am grid, with the Ford GT’s first foray in this class. The team will certainly be worth watching to see whether they can cause an upset among the Ferrari 488s, Porsche 911 RSRs and Aston Martin Vantages. Keating and Bleekemolen are embarking on their fifth Le Mans together and this year are joined by Felipe Fraga, a rookie in the twice-round-the-clock classic.
