Historic cars are all the rage, as evidenced by the success of the Le Mans Classic this past July. Gatherings of yesteryear's cars bring out not only the public, but also current and former motorsports stars. Marino Franchitti, who has five participations at the 24 Hours of Le Mans and is a TUDOR United SportsCar Championship titleholder, took the wheel of car taht was at its peak in the 1970s, a Mirage GR8 that Derek Bell lead to victory in 1975. Bell, who won the 24 Hours of Le Mans five times, slid into the seat of a 1957 Maserati 300S, while Allan McNish, former official Audi driver, and Sir Stirling Moss exchanged their impressions on the great technological advancements separating their two eras.

All the drivers present were gracious enough to sign autographs. Sir Stirling Moss even wrote his name on a photo from... 1956 that a fan had preciously kept just in case one day...
