The first two rounds of the 2018-2019 Asian Le Mans Series season were won by two different teams. Spirit Of Race's #8 Ligier JS P2-Nissan claimed the top step on the podium at the 4 Hours of Shanghai and Algarve Pro Racing's #24 Ligier JS P2-Judd took first place at the 4 Hours of Fuji. Yet, it's American team United Autosports' #22 Ligier JS P2-Nissan in the lead in the provisional championship standings thanks to its two second place finishes at Shanghai and Fuji.
In the LMP3 class, the #13 Ligier JS P3 fielded by Inter Europol Competition is in the lead after winning the 4 Hours of Shanghai and coming in second at the 4 Hours of Fuji.
Lastly, in the GT class, the Ferrari 488 GT3 is looking for a third win in a row after the first two rounds of the season.
At the end of the 2018-2019 Asian Le Mans Series season, four teams will be invited to take the start at the next 24 Hours of Le Mans (15-16 June 2019). The ALMS season will come to a close on 24 February at the final round in Sepang, Malaysia.
