Observed since 1955 on the second Saturday of January every year, Thailand’s National Children’s Day celebrates children as the future of the country and involves plenty of fun outdoor activities for children and their parents. A day at the race track is always a fun day out and families are more than welcome to the third round of the Asian Le Mans Series. Entrance is free to under fifteens.
This year the show lasts longer: six hours instead of four! The finish is at 6pm local time, not long after the sun sets. And there’s great entertainment in store for all the family! Watch out for Gustavo Yacaman, who came fourth in LMP2 at Le Mans 24 Hours in 2015. He will be at the wheel of ARC Bratislava’s Ligier JS P2. Will Bamber (Earl’s younger brother) also returns to the championship in the Team NZ Porsche.
And of course, star team Jackie Chan DC Racing/Jota Sport is fielding the #7 Oreca 05 with an all-Malaysian crew and aiming to do the same in the 2019 Le Mans 24 Hours. The Asian Le Mans Series is notoriously an excellent springboard for young talent.
Watch the qualifying sessions and the race itself live on our website or on the Asian Le Mans Series website and Facebook Page (free of charge). Live streams will also be broadcast on www.Motorsport.TV and MotorTrendonDemand. The 6 Hours of Buriram at the Chang international circuit starts at noon local time (UTC+07:00) on Saturday 13 January.
