The competitors in the Asian Le Mans Series visited China for the first round of the 2016/2017 season, and will now head to Japan for the second race at the foot of Mount Fuji.
The starting grid will once again be packed with 30 cars expected, including the current LM P3 class champions DC Racing (renamed Jackie Chan DC Racing during the off season), actively competing in both LM P2 and LM P3. The Chinese team has been quite successful, winning the two classes at Zhuhai to kick off the season.
Competitors in the 4 Hours of Fuji will have two free practice sessions, Friday and Saturday, then one qualifying session on Saturday afternoon. The start of the race will be given Sunday, December 4th at 12:15 p.m. local time, 3:15 a.m. in the U.K.
The 24 Hours of Le Mans will be represented by Masanori Sekiya (11 participations and a win in 1995 with the McLaren F1 GTR), the organizer of the IPS (Inter Proto Series) championship in which the competitors will also be racing this weekend at the Fuji circuit.
