Corvette Racing blasts the lunchtime horn!

Just before midday, one of the mechanics from the American team brings out a huge air horn and sounds it as the clock strikes 12 to let all the paddock know that it’s lunchtime. The tradition goes back a few years to the time when a mechanic with a love for trains brought over a horn in his luggage.

He has since left the team but the General Motors works team bought its own horn so they could continue to blast the alarm across the paddock. Now fans gather before the stand at around 11.45 to see and hear it for themselves!
