FIA WEC: Toyota takes the pole at the 1000 Miles of Sebring

The #8 Toyota driver line-up clocked the fastest time during qualifying in 1:40.318 for this weekend's 1000 Miles of Sebring in Florida.

TOYOTA GAZOO Racing team manager Hisatake Murata is clearly eager to take on the 1000 Miles of Sebring, sixth round of the 2018-2019 FIA World Endurance Championship Super Season: "Sebring begins the last stretch of the 2018-2019 season, and we have three important races ahead of us toward earning the World Endurance Champion title and winning the 24 Hours of Le Mans once again. This is the first time we'll take the start at Sebring and it's an exciting challenge for the team and drivers. I've heard so much about how special this race is and I can't wait to see for myself. We're looking to put on a good show for the American fans."

Nighttime qualifying ended well for Toyota, culminating not only in pole position for the #8 TS050 Hybrid but also a new track record of 1:40.318.

The best time was clocked by Jackie Chan DC Racing's #38 ORECA 07 (1:47.558) in LMP2, in the LMGTE Pro class the #92 Porsche and in LMGTE Am the #77 Porsche Dempsey Proton.

Thirty-four cars will take the start at the 1000 Miles of Sebring and compete day and night on the 6.019-kilometer circuit with 17 turns and oh just a few bumps along the way...
