Jan Lammers (Dallara) ready for his 24th 24 Hours of Le Mans

The winner of the 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans eagerly awaits the announcement of the entry list for the 2018 race. Racing Team Nederland is hoping to field a Dallara P217 for what will be Jan Lammers’s 24th Le Mans. His teammates are Frits van Eerd and Giedo Van Der Garde.

Racing Team Nederland has announced the driver line-up for the next 24 Hours of Le Mans, should their application be successful. Jan Lammers, who won the 1988 race in the Jaguar XJR-9 is to share the wheel with team owner Frits van Eerd and ex-Formula One driver and 2016 European Le Mans Series champion, Giedo van der Garde. “Frits and Racing Team Nederland are offering me the opportunity to do my 24th 24 Hours of Le Mans. It’s fantastic!”

By way of preparation, Lammers will be racing the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps, the first round of the World Endurance Championship 2018-19 Super Season this May, before Le Mans 24 Hours in June. “Jan is one of the icons of Le Mans and has always supported Racing Team Nederland. I think it’s great that he can join us for his 24th 24 Hours of Le Mans”, says Frits Van Eerd.

Racing Team Nederland competed in the European Le Mans Series last season and Jan Lammers, Frits van Eerd and Rubens Barrichello clinched 13th place for the team’s Le Mans début.

If the team is awarded an invitation to this year’s race, Lammers will stand sixth in the list of drivers who can boast the most participations, after Henri Pescarolo (33), Bob Wollek (30), Yojiro Terada (29), Derek Bell (26) and François Migault (25).
