After 8 hours of the first FIA World Endurance Race at Sebring in Florida the nr2 Audi with Allan McNish still behind the wheel completed its 214th lap at the head of the field behind the 8th Safety Car period of the race.

THe seventh full course yellow period was declared on lap 200 when the nr97 Aston Martin Racing Vantage limped back to the pits when the left rear wheel detached and bounced down the main straight. The car was recovered to the pits and a new wheel attached after the assembly was checked out. The team lost 25 minutes.

THe race went green for a few laps when the Safety Car was deployed again after the nr025 Dempsey Racing Oreca hit the barriers hard after colliding with a fellow ALMS competitor. The driver was OK but with debris strewn across the track the marshals had a big job to clear up. Meanwhile the nr57 Krohn Racing Ferrari speared across the lap and hit the pitwall with Tracy Krohn at the wheel. The American driver/owner limped back to the pitlane, the car crabbing badly.
